Sony A7C // Niceyrig L-bracket 421
By Hugues TY
Hello
Few days ago I received my NICEYRIG L bracket for Sony A7C.
I m very happy with it.
You can extend L bracket, use it at handle or attach handle on the left. microphone or light on the top.
There is no problem to flip or rotate the screen or open left side doors. Easy access to battery also.
The bracket is arca Swiss ready to use on tripod (vertically or horizontally)
That’s my first cage and I think it s a great combo for video and use catalyst stabilization.

I’ve had the chance to experiment with Niceyrig’s L-bracket for the A7C.
Instead of a full cage, this L-bracket covers the bottom and left side only.
The L-bracket is made entirely of metal and very well machined. The branding is discrete. The bottom is thick, which can be an advantage if you want a longer grip, or a disadvantage if you value the A7C’s small size.
The bottom has a cutout for the battery compartment, it has no negative impact on usage. There are two flat ¼-20 screws at the bottom, as well as a key to rotate the screws. That key is held in place magnetically, a very nice touch. One of the screws attaches to the camera, and the other holds the vertical section in place. There are also 6 more holes to mount extra plates if desired.
The left side also has cutouts for the memory card compartment and the screen. At the top is a coldshoe to attach a microphone, a light, etc. That coldshoe can be detached and mounted back towards the left instead of the right (over the camera body).
The L-bracket doesn’t prevent the use of the camera’s swivel screen, but some care must be taken. If you want to o rient the screen, you need to do so before swiveling it fully towards the side. Otherwise, it bumps on the frame of the bracket.
The vertical section can also slide out thanks to a rail at the bottom. It can move out of the way enough to become a kind of handle for the left hand. Not very comfortable to grip, but useful in a pinch.
In my tests, the L-bracket was compatible with most Arca-Swiss compatible heads. I tested positively with three heads I have on hand, including a gimbal.
However, it was not directly compatible with Peak Design’s Travel Tripod, since it’s too wide. The solution is to remove the side bumpers on the Peak Design head and to slide in the bracket from the side. It works, but it’s not convenient and it prevents the user from locking the clamp in place (since the bracket can only slide out, it’s a marginal problem).
The fit on the camera is excellent. Thanks to the front bumpers it stays perfectly in place with the single locking screw. It will not scratch the body, and the vertical section doesn’t actually touch the camera, it just gets close.
In summary, this Niceyrig L-Bracket is a good product if you’re in the market for such a support. I’m not sure I want to increase the total size of my A7C permanently but when I need a bracket, the Niceyrig will serve me well. I honestly cannot see what could be improved, especially at the price.

Hey all, just wondering what your thoughts are on using L-brackets? I recently picked one up for my A7C.
I already have a full cage from SmallRig, but wanted a more lightweight option. So I went with the L-bracket. I also wanted something less expensive, so I gave this Niceyrig brand a try. It's about 8 dollars cheaper than the SmallRig version, but still good quality.

What are your thoughts about this products?
